What needs to be “fixed”
Retailers are taking advantage of us. Some medical professionals are harming us. Government agencies with oversight are blind. Law enforcement is not serving us in too many cases but “ruling” us instead. Insurances companies, prices, and penalties is appalling. Too much food is mislabeled, overpriced, has suspect ingredients and are flat out unsafe to eat. Automakers have lied and hidden flaws and defects that have maimed and killed us. Products made here and that has been imported has made us, our children, and pets ill or caused death. The quality of products is poor and overpriced. Children and young people are not being equally and adequately educated. Wall Street exploits us, and employers bully, intimidate, and mistreat us. Profits and prisons over humanity, safety, decency, fairness, is the standard. This must stop.
Government agency failures
The FDA is responsible for protecting us from foods and medicines that harm us, our children, our seniors, and even our pets. They have not done that job as well as they should. Increasingly there are more and more failures that cost us harm and even death. NO excuse for that. The FDA is also not protecting us from “supplements.” Doctor’s and hospitals unfortunately sometimes give us MERSA and malpractice. The EEOC burden of proof standards are so weak and ridiculous and the system is so skewed in favor of “business” and employers the situation is absurd. The Department of Justice is failing us as well, along with city and state agencies. The FCC and the FTC is just as corrupt and is failing us all just as badly in their own areas of responsibility. Turn your power on and do something. Call them out. Write letters, form coalitions, do press conferences, PSA’s…something!
Elected officials don’t care!
Some of those we elect in this so-called democracy to look out for us, protect us, our children, our health, safety, and very lives only care about lining their pockets, accessing and enjoying the perks of elitism and privilege, and capitulating to big corporations, business, and the powerful and wealthy. They get in the way and block others who do work with and for us. This means that this is a democracy by word only. This type of elected official doesn’t see citizens as constituents but as marks and suckers. Citizen’s interests are less than last. Our interests are non-existent except for some dedicated public servants. For those who aren’t doing what’s required, hold them accountable. Hold their feet to the fire. They live like kings and insider trade and steal and lie and you don’t even have a living wage. Turn your power on!
A nation divided
The divisions have been fostered, promoted, sanctioned, played-up, and perpetuated. While common folk, the ignorant, the confused, the overwhelmed, the overworked, and the stressed are at each others throats. The policy makers, privileged, the elites, the opportunists and exploiters are pillaging our collective heritage and unified right to quality of life and to have a quality life. If we can just learn to see the tricks, the mis-education, the lies, propaganda, the smoke and mirrors, through the rhetoric and manipulation, we can turn our attention to who and what is really responsible for what is happening. Stand up… don’t stand aside, stand down, or stand back. Using race by those in control is a trick. All human blood is red. Everyone wants peace, food, shelter, necessities of life, a chance at dreams, good health, love, and a sense of well-being and security. Our behavior makes us enemies but we are not. Get over yourself. Adopting the attitude of a life of service will change how each one of us views each other and treat one another. We will never have utopia or perfection but kindness, understanding, humanity, decency, and empathy make us better. Turn your power on!
Change the nation and world
Consumer protection, access to whatever we all want and need and use at a reasonable price and having the decent wages, careers, or economic opportunity to afford them is what we need. Safe gun laws, better mental health across the nation for everyone, clean water for everyone, safe food and other products for everyone, opportunity to realize talents, aptitude, goals, and dreams for everyone. That’s what we need. Destruction of ideologies, policies, systems, constructs, culture, and behavior that discriminates, is biased, that disenfranchises, and perpetrates unfairness and injustice based on that and because of that must end. Proper regard for persons of color and their contributions, worth, and rights, as well as LGBT citizens must be how life should be and should remain in perpetuity. Proper and better than adequate care for our seniors, children, disabled, veterans, teachers, public servants, entrepreneurs, the sick, the mentally ill, the poor and a clean and safe environment. Fix Wall Street. Put equal resources and access in ALL our neighborhoods. That’s what we need. More focus on people and not as much on the pursuit of money gratuitously and callously should be the new world order. Capitalism should be edited or hybridized with the best features of all systems of social structure if we are all to have better lives. That’s what we need. No excuses, no more lies, and no bull. Turn your power on!
